About

About
I graduated from Biola University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, passed my state boards and practiced as a floor Nurse for about 12 years and for the last 25+ years have worked with mothers and babies in some capacity. I have worked in Pediatrics, NICU, Labor and Delivery, Newborn Nursery and Postpartum as a nurse. I am a Childbirth Educator, a  DONA certified Birth Doula, a CAPPA trained Postpartum Doula and a Breastfeeding Counselor.
To say I wear many hats is an understatement. My life's calling is that of service and my love is for expectant families. I enjoy walking you through the exciting times of pregnancy, birth and the first few weeks of your postpartum journey. I support you in your choices and meet you where you are. I bring the calm to your situation as we navigate together learning all about pregnancy, walking through birth and postpartum together.
I consider myself more of a 'hospital' or birth center doula, I guess it has a lot to do with my nursing background. But with the recent change in events I will support a home birth mom if that is her choice. I support moms that want to have an unmedicated birth in the hospital, those that want the epidural as soon as they can have one and those that want to see how labor goes. I have also been that support for moms having a belly birth by choice and by necessity.
My husband and I have one grown daughter, a son-in-law and two of the cutest grandsons ever, with a littlest newby born May 2020.
This is so much more than a job, this is my calling!  And though I don't refer to my doula families as "numbers" for my accolades, I've been lucky enough to have worked with more than 175+ families over the course of my career. I'd love to get to know you!

Currently providing Childbirth Education Classes at Rancho Springs Medical Center as well as private via Zoom, private GentleBirth Classes,  Birth and Postpartum Doula support to the greater Temecula Valley and all surrounding cities

I am active on Facebook with two private support groups just for expectant moms (bump buddies) and new moms (Murrieta & Temecula New Moms). These groups are facilitated by myself and Julie Alexander, an IBCLC and we welcome all expectant and new moms to join us here for support during pregnancy and beyond.

I have an instagram, @settlinginwithbaby - join me there too.

Comfort For Labor Class

Taught by an active birth doula, this one time class allows expectant parents to spend 2 1/2 hours discovering labor comfort techniques. Emphasis is placed on deep breathing, relaxation, massage, use of the birth and peanut ball, positions for labor and putting together tools for your labor tool kit. The class includes a “Comfort Kit” which includes a relaxation DVD, and a selection of relaxation tools for labor, handouts and snacks.
