It has been some time since I’ve written anything here at all. I guess I will start at the beginning. Why did I decide to be a postpartum doula? For the last 28+ years I have done some form of OB nursing. I love everything about mommies and babies and families and so it just seemed to be natural when I decided on a job change. I am able to follow some of my moms from the classroom into the home and watch them welcome their babies into their hearts and homes. I am able to serve these families and help them transition. Sometimes I prepare a meal, and other times I just get baby settled so mom can nurture herself with a really, really long hot shower. As women we are strong and we think we don’t need any help in those first few weeks after a baby. But let me tell you, it’s so much easier with help. Every mom deserves a doula. I’m here if you need one.
